Your scooter maintenance should involve removing the headset to clean the grime build up which can affect a 'smooth ride'. Sometimes it helps to check that the bearings have not come loose through riding (pending on how often the scooter is used we suggest 3mth-6mth checks)
Follow our step by step guide on how to remove, re-install or replace your headset.
1) Loosen bolts on clamp
2) Slide the bar off
3 & 4) Use your allen key to loosen the top cap and then slide the shim off.
5) Remove the excess grim off the headset before putting these back in (notice the direction the caps are facing)
6) Slide the fork back in through the bottom.
7, 8, 9, 10, 11 ) Put in the chrome metal ring over the fork, until it is secured down in the cap. Place the top cap (black) over the top to compress down. The shim is put over the fork next and the nut is screwed back in to secure the headset (ensure this is tight).
12) Slide the bar over the shim and tighten up the bolts in the clamp to secure.
